The Negative, Social Effects of Redefining Marriage
The primary reason to combat the redefining of marriage has very little to do homosexuals. When the word marriage is redefined this negatively affects heterosexuals - some 98-99% of the population. The negative consequences to the lives of heterosexuals do not appear immediately - they increasingly appear over time. These consequences absolutely lead to poorer life outcomes for many people and to social decay. Because of these negative outcomes for heterosexuals, the redefining of marriage creates a nightmare scenario - it embeds social decline into the legal framework. It leads to ever-increasing numbers of people having more difficult lives and this in turn leads ever-increasing financial difficulties for any country. There are four primary negative outcomes that stem from the redefining of marriage.
- Heterosexuals develop attitudes which cause fewer of them to marry. This leads to more singles, more loneliness, more depression, and more single parenting which, in turn, leads to an increasingly fragile society (See here)
- More and more children are raised by same-sex parents. These children are more likely to grow up with issues which harm the children's ability to live life to the fullest - and this in turn harms the wider society (See here)
- Ever-increasing numbers of heterosexual children and adults experiment with the homosexual life-style and have poorer health and life outcomes are an automatic result. Single parenting grows and society becomes increasingly fractured (See here)
- Because the redefining of marriage brings about poorer social outcomes - outcomes which need more state intervention - redefinition drags society inextricably down a pathway towards having ever greater numbers of left-wing, welfare state policies. And because no one is allowed to talk about the root cause of this social decay - or fix it - then the redefining of marriage is actually a quiet Marxist coup in disguise. (See here)
