[ A regular report on criticism
and kudos about all media outlets.]A notice was put out on the internet last month that most media outlets, talk shows and print reporters, don’t want to have discussions on divorce but would prefer stories on the “fantasy of marriage”……unquote. If you, the public offers (by phone, letter or email) enough questions about unique topics on divorce laws, and on marriage enrichment programs/funding, with added, and provable, profound statistics on divorce outcomes, the inclusion of a formerly avoided topic of divorce policy, will be considered.
Because the public has been so vocal, and on local radio, the Family Court in this state has postponed a hearing on a case where an innocent young mother has been prohibited from seeing her children for 20 months. Only timed phone conversations are permitted weekly. But written evidence was surreptitiously obtained from her file that proves that the husband, with the financial advantage of his wealthy parents, are behind this clear violation of its own process, by the Courts. In other cases around the country, exploited parents like this should demand, from their lawyer, that their case file be opened to them. And always take your concerns and complaints to your local state representative or senator, with consistent follow-up.
On ABC’s The View daytime television show, we have received frequent complaints about the rude and flagrant flaunting of disregard for protective moral values by one or two of their panel members. This week it was the disrespect shown Senator John McCain in his appearance on their show, by Star Jones and Joy Behar. The cultivated hatred by anyone associated by the Republican Party is widely acknowledged. Most conservative outlets would never indulge in such mud slinging, but if you do hear that type of comments, please let us know. It is sad that the upcoming retirement of Barbara Walters has weakened this particular show, but when sponsors feel your dissatisfaction, things will change.
And MSNBC has a similar problem with Chris Matthews. Dom Giordano, a Philadelphia talk radio host, just referred to Matthews as becoming a caricature of himself. True.
His self-importance finds him wildly chauvinistic and too-often pandering to Mike Barnicle,
Boston’s resident plagiarist. But kudos to NPR radio for unexpectedly fair reporting this week.
